After this last year, there’s not a one amongst us who won’t be looking for the ‘on’ switch. We all need to find it, use it, and move forward at speed. But life’s never simple, and chances are we won’t be welcoming back a rested, relaxed, and raring to go workforce.
“Survey reveals that 80% of Brits feel working from home has had a negative impact on their mental health.”

Parents who’ve been doggedly home-schooling may feel infinitely relieved as life returns to normal, kids go back to school and they go back to work. But lessons have been learned and not just by the children, and anyone who ever said teachers have it easy, will have long since hung their head in shame There will have been personal tragedies and loss, loneliness and depression, financial stress, and anxiety. The events, celebrations, holidays, family gatherings which shape our lives, have all been eliminated, disrupted, put on hold, whilst darting in and out of supermarkets for supplies has become an uncherished chore. We’ve had to get used to the inscrutability, fogged up glasses and discomfort of masks, and in rare moments of levity might even have spared a thought for the bank robber who’s now only going to strike fear into anyone by going maskless.
Running beneath all the above is the one thing above all others that we as humans find toughest to deal with – uncertainty. We haven’t been able to put in place plans for anything, nor are we sure when that’s going to change. But in the midst of the uncertainty there are some things which still hold true and merit thought now whilst our businesses are mainly in a holding pattern.
